The aim of the Community Parent Course is to build up a parents’ community in which counselling on questions concerning education takes place. A community parent is a person who voluntarily offers advice to other parents on the following topics:
- Child and leisure
- Child and school
- Child and further education
Peer support means support and counselling at “eye level” – on the same level.
The “Community Parent Course” is a free course to learn new skills and to build new competencies in a friendly way. Parents are trained by experts in the areas of “living together”, “school and parents” and “my child’s career opportunities” and receive comprehensive communication training.
In a further step, the trained parents acquire practical skills in the “Community Parent Lab”. They independently organize a counseling evening in their circle of friends, where they receive support from professional coaches.
